Japan Earthquake Update
ECS, Inc. is pleased to announce that the overall situation continues to improve day by day with our Japan based raw material supply chain partners. Power supply to businesses and the civilian population is becoming more reliable and predictable. Initially there was an impact with raw material deliveries from our Japan based raw material supply chain but this matter has been all but been eliminated. These delays were primarily due to fuel shortages and the diversion of equipment to earthquake relief support. Communication lines and transportation infrastructure reliability is improving daily.
Due to our continuous long range production planning process the minor delays from these raw material partners did not affect our production lines. Our current production commitments have not been altered nor do we see any reason to believe that they will be. Your current and future orders will be delivered as quoted as of this date.
ECS, Inc. will continue to closely monitor the situation as we have been throughout these events. ECS Inc. will keep you advised if any unpredictable altering events would cause us to revise our assessment of these very important matters.

Japan Earthquake and Tsunami Assessment
March 11, 2011 was a very bad day for Japan and for humanity as a whole. A massive earthquake with a magnitude 9.0, one of the worst in Japan's history, followed by a deadly tsunami was catastrophic for the country, its people and the world. The trauma and turmoil has not yet ended due to after shocks that may inflict additional contributing factors to possible supply chain interruptions. Unknown transportation interruptions along with possible power interruptions are undeterminable at this writing. Damage assessments are ongoing and unforeseen disruptions are not ruled out in the weeks ahead. The quake and tsunami has crippled important infrastructure specifically power supply, water, surface & air transportation availability in the northern prefectures of Japan.
As of today, March 15th, 2011 our factory has not been directly affected by these horrible events. Our factory is in operation and our employees and staff has been accounted for. However, due to our inability to make contact with a few of our raw material partners as a result of the events, it is yet to be determined if there will be any short term or long term interruptions to current or future production. ECS, Inc. is making every effort to make contact with key raw material supply chain partners so we may determine how this may or may not affect our ability to maintain our standard production schedules. At this time we are speaking with our "Raw Material Contingency Supply Chain" and preparing them to come on line should our primary supply chain fail to meet our requirements.
Our main concern at this time is possible disruptions in transportation of finished goods from our main distribution center to global destinations around the world. The reason this is a concern is because there are no viable contingency plans for the inability to get goods to outbound ports when equipment and routes are unavailable or impassable. We are monitoring this matter hour by hour with our logistics center to determine a course of action should this issue become problematic.
At this time there are no foreseeable interruptions in your orders due to raw material shortages or anticipated transportation delays.
ECS Inc. will advise you of any further developments as they develop. We request your patience during this most difficult time for our team and families in Japan.
